The devil prowls like a hungry lion, (1 Peter 5:8-9)
We never know the form He’ll take.
He lurks to devour our lives.
Our minds he lives to overtake.
Our marriages, our children,
Our devotion, our ministry.
He can turn good into bad, (Rom. 8:28 )
If we stay on bended knee.
The Word is our only weapon.
We must keep it honed and sharp
Ever at the defensive,
For, our minds he looks to warp.
Depression, meanness, addictions,
He knocks us into our default,
Unless we rely on His Spirit
To continually guard our heart.
For in our life will be trials,
Yet our God will walk us through,
Or we’ll be delivered from them.
He has the plans for what He will do.
His ways to us are mystery,
But even if we succumb on earth,
We’ll be delivered by our trials,
The devil will be allowed no mirth.
For whether by, through, or from our trials,
We know God will deliver us.
His kingdom will not be destroyed.
He’ll save us – in that we can trust.
